Guy Phoenix, owner of Alchemy Development, came to us with an extraordinary idea for the latest house he was designing. He wanted a 10 foot shark tank in the lounge! We have to admit we were not sure it could be done, but with Guy's more than gentle persuasion that anything was possible, we gave it a go ... with stunning results. The aquarium contains 10000 litres of water with 6cm thick glass to hold it all in place and is home to two black-tipped reef sharks. An out building had to be specially constructed to house all the filter equipment which we maintain on a regular basis.
To complete the aquatic effect, we also installed the fountains in the driveway and a glass topped sunken pond under the dining table. The end result has been featured in several magazines including 25 Beautiful Homes and Channel 5's "I own Britain's most beautiful Home".
